"It made me want to laugh, cry and get fucking hammered all at once."

Wednesday April 5th at the Knitting Factory in NYC, Chris Crofton "The Alcohol Stuntman," let the people of New York know he was more than just another boring acoustic singer songwriter. He demonstrated this in an action packed hour long set that included a backing of live drums and an assault of crusty electric guitar.

When asked what brought about the change from his usual acoustic performance to all electric he responded by mumbling "I just believed it was the next logical step, I been playing most of my songs long enough that I felt I needed to breath some new life into them. People seemed to really respond and I believe I am going to stay electric for a while and see how it goes from there. The stuntman likes to rock just as much as the next guy if not more, ya know what I'm saying baby?"

From the first chord of "Alcohol, Alcohol," to the last chord of "36-24-36" he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. His music, an extremely unique mix of humor and emotion is loaded with very personal lyrics. An example was the crowd favorite "So What I Get Hurt," which is a tale of Crofton's battle with drinking and depression most of which seems to be fueled by his painful run in's with the opposite sex.

I highly recommend you check out Chris Crofton and his totally unique live performance, which made me want to laugh, cry, and get fucking hammered all at once. From what I am told since the recent release in late march of his first full length album "the Alcohol Stuntman," he has received a considerable amount of college radio airplay all over the country. This is unique coming from such a modestly promoted album. So I am here to confirm the hype building around this soon to be indie pop superstar.
