J5 headlined a hot show at the upscale Arena Club in Los Angeles. Jurassic 5 took it back to the days of old with their old school influenced style.

Along with their classic hits, J5 unleashed new cut's into their dope mix. The crowd went off when the J5 mc's announced that their long awaited new album was set to drop this July. It's been a long time for J5 fans to wait for some fresh beats, as their first album was released way back in 1997.

One highlight of the tight J5 performance was a dj solo spun on four turntables. Cut Chemist looked like he was having a seizure as he hit switches and the fader with death-defying quickness. As the Chemist scratched his itches away, dj Numark was hard at work providing thumping beats on his mixer rigged with rubber bands. Each rubber band on Numark's mixer created a different, wicked beat when he strummed them, it was too ill.

Jurassic 5's old school influenced, funky flavor has to be heard live to be fully respected. The Jurassic recipe of two ill dj's and four skilled lyracists makes for a feast of innovative, fresh hip hop styling.
